Smartloos are designed to provide for a maximum of 10 persons per week based on weekly cleaning.

A portable toilet must be serviced every fortnight or more frequently as required. The Health (Temporary Sanitary Conveniences) Regulations 1997, Section 32 – Maintenance of a Temporary Toilet, indicates that portable toilets must be “serviced once in every 2 weeks or in such a shorter period”.

A portable toilet is a lightweight, transportable, self-contained toilet that is often seen at construction sites and festivals.  It is also known as a ‘portaloo’, ‘chemical toilet’, ‘portable loo’, or a ‘porta potti’.  The portable toilet is an effective solution in providing toilet facilities to a group of people at a temporary location.

Unfortunately, no.  There are many factors that affect the usage of portable toilets and the amount of waste generated in the units.  In social/event settings, weather, alcohol consumption and food consumption are the common factors in usage rates. However, if on a work site the total amount of people on the site and the total time they spend on site each day are all significant factors with toilet demand/usage.

Smartskip does not guarantee delivery times when hiring a portable toilet. This is because a truck will deliver multiple portable toilets in a run and determine the order based on the delivery locations. In order to be viable and keep our portable toilet hire costs down, these must be delivered in a logical sequence to minimise distance travelled by the delivery truck. It is recommended that if you know that you will need to use the portable toilet first thing in the morning then please have it delivered on the day prior to when you need it.

If the portable toilet cannot be delivered for any reason, other than the fault of Smartskip, or the driver, the customer will be liable for any callout fees incurred.

When you book portable toilet hire, you hire it for a specified drop off and collection date. Your portable toilet will then be collected on that specified date unless you subsequently request otherwise.

Many events take place in remote places such as fields, with no accessible toilet facilities. Our portable toilet hire ensures all visitors to the event have suitable facilities whilst enjoying time in the sun, rain and all conditions. For a more accurate calculation we need to know the number of attendees, duration, and if alcohol is being served. Get a quote today!

All Portable and Disabled toilets are transported to and from site by crane truck, due to the weight of these toilets Work Place Health and Safety have deemed this to be a regulation.
